Big Beautiful Baths
We all love the simple pleasure of a warm soak
After 31 years of use, Sherbrooke’s bath and shower rooms require extensive renovation. Elders expect and need options for bathing based on their personal preferences. We want to offer truly rejuvenating, accessible experiences for each individual…lingering soaks, refreshing showers, or bubble baths!
We desperately need to continue investing in our home to renew and beautify these rooms in all of Sherbrooke’s first to fourth floor neighborhoods. Three rooms are now complete, thanks to you. We are welcoming gifts now for the next bath and shower room at Sherbrooke, and for a new accessible bath tub at Central Haven. Donor support is incredibly important for these projects.
The cost to completely renovate one bath and shower room is over $200,000, and so we are asking donors and grantors for support.

A Sneak Peek at the Spa Room Renovations
Moving Mountains
Your gift moves mountains… actually, it moves humans!
We all need a little help sometimes. A ceiling track is a tool that offers a high standard of loving care and makes a world of difference for an Elder with limited mobility. Having access to this lift system right in their own room makes life easier and more comfortable.
With a ceiling track lift, we can smoothly assist an Elder to shift position in bed, move into a wheelchair, or travel out into the community. It’s a more comfortable, adaptive, safe way for care partners to help with everyday tasks.
Ceiling track lifts are needed
Unfortunately, we do not have a ceiling track lift system installed in every room at Central Haven…yet. Some Elders rely on lift systems daily. Without ceiling track lifts, staff can be at greater risk of injury while doing the work they love.
The estimated cost to install a lift system is $8,000, and we are inviting donors to help.

The Sherbrooke team has taken on radical culture change, transforming long-term care to create homes that feel like homes, not institutions.
We continue to spread the word, hosting training for organizations and care partners who come from across Canada. Continuing education is incredibly important to us, and we offer regular training opportunities and refreshers to our staff, board, and residents’ family members on The Eden Alternative®.
You’ll see the difference in our homes
In our homes, you’ll encounter resident pets, lush gardens, and creativity galore. You’ll notice the inter-generational relationships built into our community with the i-Gen Grade Six classroom, Oak Trees and Acorns Child Care Centre, and frequent community visits. You’ll make many strong, lasting friendships and feel an incomparable sense of community in all the seasons of life.
We create culture change by providing resources for continuing education, supplies for pets and gardens, art materials and more.
